Project Description

The City of Sarasota, in partnership with Sarasota County Breeze Transit, is exploring the potential for a new water-based transit system to connect key waterfront destinations. This study will look at two proposed landing sites: Bayfront Park and Ken Thompson Park, as possible locations for future water transit service.

Through this effort, the City aims to understand how a water transit option could enhance mobility, support tourism and recreation, and offer residents and visitors an exciting new way to experience Sarasota.

Consultants from Cummins Cederberg will lead the study, conducting site assessments and environmental reviews, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to identify opportunities and challenges for each location. The findings will help guide the City in determining next steps toward design, permitting, and potential future phases of the project.
