Transportation Ch: 2055 Transportation Objectives Public Workshop
With City of Sarasota’s population projected to grow by nearly 40% over the next 30 years, the City is updating the Transportation Chapter of the Sarasota City Plan to ensure the community’s future transportation, mobility, safety, and livability needs are met.
Residents are encouraged to attend a public workshop on Wednesday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Selby Public Library, 1331 First Street, Sarasota, FL 34236. A formal presentation by the City’s transportation planning team will begin at approximately 5:10 p.m., followed by an interactive session where attendees can explore displays, ask questions, and share feedback.
The Transportation Chapter update will translate Sarasota in Motion, the citywide transportation master accepted in 2020, into formal policy. Sarasota in Motion outlines the City’s long-range transportation vision and project priorities, which were shaped by extensive community input.
