I am the Artist known as ZULUPAINTER and I have created a design to celebrate the legacy and history of resilience for the Newtown neighborhood of Sarasota, FL. My artistic resume reflects Art that honors, unites and inspires the location and residents who will see it everyday. The Amaryllis Legacy Mural design that I offer to you reflects the resilience and beauty of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Sarasota. - I have set the image in a faux finish of stonework architecture to establish the respectful homage for Newtown. Historic sites are often adorned with sculptural elements to show honor and respect for the past. - The Amaryllis flower is set in a monumental position. Its roots, growing through the stone, remind us of the strength to continue growing when the odds are against you. The flower itself is also a symbol of hope, pride and determination. - The Purple Heart reflects the honorable memory of those who have come before us to make way for future generations to thrive in the area. Overtown grew in to Newtown. Amaryllis Park grows in Newtown. Additions: There could be small symbolic elements that could be added once proper layout has been established on the actual wall. I have in mind to add 1. Open hands for giving 2. A peace sign for unity 3. A sun to represent longevity. If added, these elements would only compliment the mural and not make the mural too busy or hard to understand from a distance Thank you for your time and considering me for this opportunity.
